Private & semi-private · Tampa

Private tennis lessons in Tampa,
built around you.

One-on-one and small-group coaching in Downtown Tampa, for every level and every age. Technique, tactics, and fitness shaped entirely around where you want your game to go.

Private lessons

One-on-one, entirely yours.

Nothing moves your game faster than undivided attention. In a private lesson it's just you and the coach — every ball, every drill, every correction built around your strokes, your goals, and the way you actually play. We work on the technical side, the tactical side, and the physical side, and you leave each session knowing exactly what you're working on and why.

Coach Tom grew up on the clay courts of the south of France and went on to play college tennis in the States. Today he coaches full-time at one of the world's leading tennis academies and travels with juniors on the ITF tour. He holds a Master's in Exercise & Nutrition Science, is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), and is an RSPA-certified padel coach — so a lesson isn't only about ball-striking, it's grounded in how your body actually moves, recovers, and develops over time.

Semi-private

Bring a partner.

Train with a friend, a partner, or a doubles teammate at a similar level. You split the cost, push each other, and get live, competitive reps you can't get hitting alone — while still getting real coaching on both sides of the net. It's the sweet spot between a private lesson and a group: personal enough to fix things, social enough to keep it fun.

Good to know

Private lesson questions.

How much are private tennis lessons?
Private one-on-one lessons are $95 per hour. Semi-private lessons, for two players, are $120 per hour split between you.
What's the difference between private and semi-private?
A private lesson is fully one-on-one, with every minute built around you. Semi-private pairs you with a partner or friend at a similar level — you share the cost and get live, competitive reps while still getting personal coaching on both sides.
Can you just be my hitting partner?
Yes — plenty of players book me purely as a hitting partner. Structured hitting sessions to sharpen your timing, rhythm, and match sharpness, at whatever intensity you need, with as much or as little coaching as you want that day.
Do you teach complete beginners?
Absolutely. Lessons are built around your level — from adults picking up a racquet for the first time to experienced players sharpening one specific part of their game. Younger players are welcome in private lessons too.
Where are lessons held?
Lessons are based in Downtown Tampa, South Tampa and New Tampa, and I coach players from across the Tampa Bay area — Wesley Chapel, Lutz, Brandon, and St. Pete. Your exact court is confirmed when you book, so we can match the surface and timing to your lesson.
How do I book and pay?
Reach out by phone or email with your level and what you'd like to work on. We'll set up your first lesson and sort out timing and payment together — no membership, no app required.
